... yep watching one of the most historic days in American history pissed me off...
no I didn't vote for Obama but that's not why I was pissed off....
It was mind blowing seeing how many people showed up for President Obama's inauguration. Just seeing that SEA of PEOPLE waiting to see such a historic moment was emotional even from the television from my bedroom...
but wut would make me mad were those little segments when the news would turn to the american people and they would ask them questions like "What kind of change are you looking forward to from President Obama?"..."Why did you vote for President Obama" or..." How do you feel about Obama winning the election?"
why did it make me mad... well... very few people acutally had anything legit to say.... all they could come up with as answers were Obama's campian slogans... like this young woman was asked... "why did you vote for Obama?" the automatic respose from her was "CHANGE!" and was asked " What kind of change are you looking forward to from our President" she just rambbled on and on without giving a specific change she was looking for.
and every time they would ask young people questions about why OBAMA ? they kept giving stupid answers like "change" withough giving specific examples of change...
now why is that do you suppose?? BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ANY LEGIT POLITICAL REASON WHY THEY'RE ROOTING FOR OBAMA.
If that is so then why do you think the millions of youth around the United States voted for Obama?
thats an easy one... the youth of america has turned our dear Mr.President into more of a celebrity figure then anything else. I also believe that many people voted for obama because of the fact that he is black and they wanted to see the first black president take charge in America. By voting for Obama becuase of the fact that he is black has turned this political race into a racist event. Would the american people have still voted for Obama if he were white? and would so many people have voted and registered if obama was white? no i dont think so...
so instead of this being political it turned into a celebrity racist run for presidency...
VOting for a president shouldn't be about the race of someone.... you shouldn't vote for anyone just beacuse they are black white mexican jewish etc.vote for someone based on your political standing and what you want for in America because this is our country and you have the right to vote and make a difference.
Now I would have no problem with having the first black president or first woman president but to me its more of taking the physical attributes of the people running out and taking their political views in...
Another thing that got me was interviews with people asking how they feel... I could really feel for the Elderly african americans who lived durring the times of segregation.... it must have been amazing for them to see how far they've gone.... they deserved to say "I never thought I would see this day" becuase they lived it.. and they probably genuinely thought they would never live to see the day... but those young people who would say "I never thought I would live to see the day" I wuz thinking are u serious?? it kinda made me laugh cuz COME ON they were raised into an america without segregation... where schools are filled with multipule races... and they didn't think they would live to see the day?... seriously... they were young people from southern california too... which is one of the most DIVERSE areas in the United states... now if they were from the other less diverse areas in the US then I could understand... but when you live in a generation where you socilise with so many other races how could you not think it was possible.... you have to be super pesemistic or blind to not see that coming...also there have been in the past years many african americans holding high positions in the government for example Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice were both Secretary of State...
anyways.. im not saying that president Obama will be a bad president... infact im priti sure he will do quite well I just dont agree with what he supports... Im also priti sure hes gonna help the economy get back on its feet... He has a lot of promises to fufill... but then he IS a politician... and false promises are well known with politicians... so we'll see
this also goes for voting for the propositions ... but im not gonna go into that beacuse its to complicated and too hipocritical...
anyways... next election I hope that more young people will vote based upon the political standings of a candidate rather than image reasons... cuz you can take a good talker with bad views and make a huge leader that everyone will look up too... take Hitler and Julias Ceasar for example... power leaders... not so great politics or morale......
if you dont get your way... try studying oratory and you'll be able to convince a whole lot of people
